My top 3 skincare brands this Autumn

As we wave goodbye to the glorious British summer and say hello to Autumn, it’s time to brace ourselves for the shorter days, dryer air and the influx of Christmas jingles…

September marks the change in seasons so I wanted to share with you my top 3 skincare brands to keep your skin looking luscious, fresh and glowy this Autumn.

First on my list we have Optiat.

Recommended for organic home pampering and treating your skin to a good scrub and exfoliation

Optiat are a brand that I discovered a couple of months ago and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with their products! As many of you know, I’ve been on a mission to use more ethically sourced beauty products with as little harm to the environment as possible.

Beautiful and minimalistic packaging.

Optiat products are completely natural and all handmade in the UK. What I love the most about their brand ethos is that Optiat uses ingredients that would otherwise be discarded to create their products (such as coffee grounds, hemp and charcoal) thus saving the environment and giving raw materials a second life.

Products come with a little booklet explaining the brand and products.

I would much prefer to buy from an ethical and organic brand like Optiat than one that uses microplastics and harsh chemicals on my skin.

I would say that the products currently on offer by Optiat are more of a pamper/luxury collection than an everyday skincare routine range. I use their products once a week on a Friday or Saturday night as a little weekly treat for my skin, they would certainly make a great gift for someone in need of some TLC.

I love the packaging of this face mask. A slim glass bottle, very instagrammable!

Fave product?

My favourite product from the range has got to be their Hit The Sheets Vanilla Velvet Coffee Scrub, mainly for my love of coffee but also for the softness of my skin after I use it. The texture is grainy and velvety (as the name suggests) and feels super luxurious and cleansing . The combination of the vanilla and coffee aromas remind me a cosy winter morning, drinking a delicious cup of creamy coffee! (oat milk of course..)

A grainy but smooth texture, perfect for a full body exfoliation.

Products I want to try next?

I would definitely be inclined to try a couple more of the Optiat range, particularly The Hungover’ Potent Peppermint Coffee Scrub (with the festive period upon us, I may be in need of a hangover remedy).

Next up on the list we have Laidbare.

Recommended for daily skin routines and for those experiencing specific skin related issues (dryness, oily skin, blemishes, skin dullness, ageing)

I kid you not, this brand is a game changer and totally affordable too! A great choice if you’re looking to revamp your daily skincare routine.

Some of the amazing skincare products by Laidbare.

Laidbare are a natural skincare brand and donate 10% of all profits to the The Sreepur Village Project in Bangladesh, a very admirable trait of the brand.

I’ve been using Laidbare for 3 months now and I really wouldn’t look back. I love so many of their products but for the purpose of this post, I’ve narrowed them down to my two favourites.

Favourite 1

Another product I couldn’t live without just has to be the From Dusk till Dawn Vitamin C Serum.

skin9
From Dusk till Dawn Vitamin C Serum.

This product is lightweight, gentle and of a delicate, silky consistency. I apply it under my eyes every night before bed and have noticed my under-eye area looking brighter over the past couple of weeks. Not only do I love the results of this product but I also love how it feels and smells on my skin.

The serum is high in Vitamins A, B, C and E which all help to restore elasticity in the skin and target lines, dark circles and wrinkles.

Spot the Difference

Favourite 2

My other fave from this collection has got to be their Spot the Difference face cream.

This product is super gentle on my skin but has really helped with subduing my breakouts and keeping my skin clear. In the past I have found a lot of spot creams rather irritating and drying on my skin so I’m delighted to have discovered Spot the Difference.

I’ve also been using this product as a priming skin base before applying foundation, so its like a primer/spot cream hybrid. Its a definite must have and at only £6.99 you can’t really go wrong.

If you’re like me and you’re highly prone to blemishes, I would 100% recommend the Spot the Difference cream, you won’t regret it.

3. The final product in my autumnal skincare haul is The Incredible Face Mask by May Beauty.

Recommended for a weekly deep cleanse, those experiencing blackheads and for a fun pamper evening activity

The incredible face mask with the May Beauty application brush

I had seen these fun peel off face masks on youtube and social media, but had never actually tried one for myself. I was kindly gifted 6 packets of The Incredible Face Mask  from May Beauty and I was really impressed by just how clean my skin felt after using them.

Waiting for the Incredible Face Mask to dry.

They’re easy to use and the perfect pamper fun for a girly sleepover or cosy night in.

You simply apply the mask to the desired area of the face and then leave it for 30-45 minutes to dry. Once dried, peel off the mask and you will see all of the blackheads and dead skin cells have remained attached to the dried sheet…super satisfying!

Almost dried!

I’ve been using the masks when I feel my skin is clogged up or looks dull.

May Beauty have kindly given me a personalised code which can be activated through this link or by typing monica20 on their website. By using the code you will receive 4 free PoreMasks if you purchase the Face Mask, happy days!

And thats my top 3 skincare brands to keep you looking fresh as a daisy throughout Autumn.

I would love to know if you’ve tried any of these for yourself or if I’ve inspired you to try out any of these brands!

With love,

Monica
